NGC 402 is a magnitude +13.6 star located in the constellation of Pisces.
The star was discovered by Irish astronomer Lawrence Parsons, 4th Lord Rosse using a 182.88 cm (72 inch) speculum reflector at Birr Castle on the 7th October 1874.
