NGC 7038 (also ESO 286-79, IRAS 21117-4725 and PGC 66414) is a magnitude +11.6 barred spiral galaxy located 227 million light-years away in the constellation Indus.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 Inch) reflecting telescope at Feldhausen in Wynberg, Cape Town on the 30th September 1834.
