Albert Marth (May 5, 1828 - August 6, 1897) was a German astronomer. Shortly after 1855, Albert Marth accept a position at the Durham University Observatory, Potters Bank, Durham, succeeding Georg Rümker as assistant to Tempel Chevallier. After working a few years as an assistant to English astronomer William Lassell, in 1862 he accepted an offered position in Malta, where he stayed until 1865. In 1868 he became an observer in the Newall Observatory, located in Gateshead near Newcastle. From 1883 to 1897 he worked at the Markree Observatory at Markree Castle, Ireland, where he was the second director.
