NGC 5565 is (possibly) a magnitude +15.5 star located in the constellation Virgo.
The star was discovered by American astronomer Lewis A. Swift using a 40.6 cm (16 inch) Alvan Clark and Sons refractor at the Warner Observatory, East Avenue, Rochester, New York, on the 14th June 1884.
