NGC 5409 (also MCG 2-36-9, UGC 8938 and PGC 49952) is a magnitude +13.3 spiral galaxy located 288 million light-years away in the constellation Boötes.

The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Ernst Wilhelm Leberecht Tempel using a 27.94 cm (11 inch) f/19 refractor at the Arcetri Observatory on the 25th April 1883.

Right Ascension 14h 01m 46.0s, Declination +09° 29' 26"
