NGC 3539 (also MCG 5-26-65 and PGC 33799) is a magnitude +14.6 lenticular galaxy located 446 million light-years away in the constellation Ursa Major.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 13th April 1831.
