NGC 4961 (also NGC 4960, IRAS 13033+2800, MCG 5-31-126, UGC 8185 and PGC 45311) is a magnitude +13.6 barred spiral galaxy located 116 million light-years away in the constellation Corona Borealis.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Datchet, Berkshire, on the 11th April 1785. The galaxy was rediscovered by Heinrich Louis d'Arrest in April 1865 and relisted as NGC 4960
