NGC 2871 is a magnitude +13.0 quadruple star located near the galaxy NGC 2872 in the constellation Leo.

The star was discovered by Irish astronomer Lawrence Parsons, 4th Earl of Rosse, using a 180 cm (72 inch) speculum reflector at Birr Castle on the 7th March 1874.

Right Ascension   09h 25m 39.4s, Declination +11° 26' 38"
