NGC 1799 (also MCG -1-14-1 and PGC 16783) is a magnitude +13.7 lenticular galaxy located 204 million light-years away in the constellation Eridanus.
The galaxy was discovered by American astronomer Lewis A. Swift using a 40.64 cm (16 inch) Alvan Clark and Sons refractor at the Warner Observatory, East Avenue, Rochester, New York, on the 13th February 1887.
