NGC 3339 is a single star located in the constellation Sextans. NGC 3339 is near the spiral galaxy NGC 3340
The star was discovered by German astronomer Albert Marth using a 121.92 cm (48 inch) reflector at William Lassell's Tigné Point observatory in Sliema, Malta, on the 30th January 1865.
