NGC 2788 (also ESO 61-2, AM 0908-674, IRAS09083-6743 and PGC 25761) is a magnitude +12.5 edge-on spiral galaxy located 75 million light-years away in the constellation Carina. It is located in the vicinity of NGC 2788A and NGC 2788B.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) reflecting telescope at Feldhausen, Claremont, Cape Town, on the 29th January 1835.
