A magnitude 14.3, supernova 2006E was discovered in the galaxy NGC 5338, on January 8th, 2006, by Puckett, Reddy; (LOSS); Migliardi (CROSS).


Position(2000): RA = 13 53 28.65 Dec = +05 12 22.8
Size 14'1 x 14'1


The supernova is offset 31E 6S from the centre of the galaxy.

As yet the type is unknown.
