Filmed during the Hayden Planetarium-Grace Peruvian Eclipse Expedition in 1937 (led by AMNH-Hayden Planetarium curator George Clyde Fisher), this film includes views of the Peruvian Andes, the Huancayo market, and the mountain Cerro de Pasco. Finally, on June 8, 1937, the solar eclipse and its effects on the atmosphere are captured.

In 1937, the United States Pacific Fleet attempted to locate Sarah Ann Island, intending to establish an observatory there to view the Solar eclipse of June 8, 1937, but was unsuccessful. The island, which was observed 15 years before, was nowhere to be found. Instead, observations were made on the nearby Canton and Enderbury Islands and Sarah Ann was quietly removed from Naval charts.
