Arctique, une expédition scientifique pour en faire le tour

The polar schooner Tara leave Lorient 19 May 2013 for a new expedition Tara Oceans Polar Circle. A scientific adventure seven months around the 25000 kms Arctic Ocean which incloude the Northeast and Northwest passages. Supported by the CNRS, CEA, EMBL and other private and public partners, this mission will bring biologists and oceanographers. It will focus on plankton biodiversity in the Arctic and other specific to this sensitive region to climate change issues, at a time when we are witnessing an accelerated melting of Arctic sea ice in summer.
