Cyclone Rusty's Rains Stirred Up Sediment

In the wake of Cyclone Rusty's heavy rains from the week of Feb. 25 when it made landfall near Port Hedland on the Pilbara coast of Western Australia, sediment filled many rivers and tributaries that flowed northwest into the Southern Indian Ocean.

Tropical Cyclone Rusty is forecast to make landfall in Australia

        probability for CAT 1 or above is 70% in about 33 hours
        probability for TS is 100% within 9 hours

    Port Hedland (20.4 S, 118.6 E)
        probability for CAT 1 or above is 55% in about 33 hours
        probability for TS is 95% in about 21 hours

The Tropical Cyclone is currently located near 18.8°S, 119.4°E
