Representing the ultimate in eyepiece design and technology, the new six and seven element Series 5000 Ultra Wide Angle eyepieces deliver extremely high resolution, contrast and full-field sharpness over an astounding 82° apparent field-of-view. Only the highest quality materials were selected to create these extraordinary eyepieces. The designs required several different types of exotic glass in order to achieve the highest level of optical performance. Looking through a Series 5000 Ultra Wide Angle eyepiece is the next best thing to actually being there.
Please note that the eyepiece is a large 2" barrel diameter eyepiece and requires a 2" diagonal or eyepiece holder. Eyepiece weight approximately 26 ounces. (737g)
Features: Ultra Wide 82° apparent field-of-view Premium grade optical glass Individually tuned, multi-layered coatings for maximum light transmission Lens edges and all internal metal surfaces are blackened to maximize image contrast Parfocal - little or no refocusing required when switching eyepieces Long eye relief Adjustable twist-up rubber eyeguards

The four shorter focal lengths are waterproof. They are O-ring sealed and nitrogen-purged to prevent internal fogging in the eyepiece on cold nights; keep the interior dust-and fungus-free; and make each eyepiece easier to clean, as there is no risk of excess cleaning solution getting trapped between the lens elements. This 24mm Ultra Wide, on the other hand, has a 5.3mm exit pupil with an f/4.5 scope. The six-lens design uses multiple rare earth glass elements. It is primarily designed for no-holds-barred low power deep space use with scopes having focal ratios down to f/4.
