Weston Wetherbee was born January 24, 1857 in Barre, New York to Weston and Mary Anna Smith Wetherbee. Throughout his life he worked a variety of jobs. 
He was a long-time member of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada. He was formerly sheriff of Orleans County, New York and well known as an amateur astronomer.
