The 1976 Caldran-Muradiye earthquake occurred at 14:22 local time (12:22 UTC) on 24 November. The epicenter was located near Caldran, 20 km northeast of Muradiye, in the Van Province of eastern Turkey. The earthquake had a magnitude of 7.3 with a maximum intensity of X on the Mercalli intensity scale.
