The launch of the Russian Zenit-2M carrier rocket has been scheduled for the first quarter of 2007 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome.
A delegation of Russian and U.S. specialists are currently working at Baikonur, examining the infrastructure of the space centre, and will be involved in preparing and executing the launch of the Zenit-2M and Zenit-3M in 2007-2008 under the "Ground Start" program. So far, two commercial contracts have far been signed for the launch of foreign satellites PanAmSat-11 and Horizon-2 using the Zenit-3M rocket in 2008.
In 2008, Zenit rockets will launch two Russian satellites, the Elektro-L and the Spektr-M.
