A Russian Rockot launch vehicle has lifted-off from the Plesetsk space center in northern Russia, carrying a Cosmos class military satellite, two Gonets-M telecoms satellites and a MiR scientific microsatellite, at 05.35 a.m. Moscow time (01:35 GMT), 28th July, 2012.
It will be the first launch of a Rokot rocket following the loss of the Geo-IK geodetic satellite in February 2011. Launches of these rockets were suspended in order to identify the reasons behind the launch vehicle's malfunction and fix all defects. Read more
