The International Astronomical Union (IAU) has approved a new name for a Martian crater.
Lederberg for a 87.25-km-wide Martian crater located at 13.01°N, 314.08°E. The feature was named in honour of the American molecular biologist Joshua Lederberg (1925-2008).
