The supernova is a Type Ia.

A possible magnitude 14.7 R supernova was discovered in the spiral galaxy ESO 139-28 in the constellation Pavo, by the 25cm La Silla TAROT telescope on images taken on the 21st June, 2012. 

The supernova is located 17" West and 4" North from the center of the galaxy.
As yet the type is unknown.
