EF Pegasus- Dwarf Nova

EF Pegasus has had an outburst on November 28th 2005.
EF Peg is a cataclysmic variable having a period of about 162.5 days. The dwarf nova varies with a large amplitude, between 10.7 magnitude down to 18th magnitude photographic.

Superhumps in the outburst lightcurve of EF Peg places this star in the SU Ursae Majoris subclass of dwarf novae and allows us to estimate its orbital period at about 2.05 hours. This period would make EF Peg a rare SU UMa star found to lie within the cataclysmic variable period gap.
The white dwarf is relatively cool, having a temperature near 15000K, and with a mass of 0.6 solar masses.

Position(2000): RA = 21 15 04 Dec = +14 03.8
EF Peg is a binary with a M5V secondary star
EF Peg lies about 5" from a star of mag 14, in p.a. 290 +/- 5 deg.
EF Peg is 380 pc away.
