VANCOUVER, To-day -- A meteor flashed across the sky in Virginia on Thursday night, rocking the residences in half a dozen cities by the shock of its landing. It was found next morning near Blackstone. The meteor struck a grove of oak trees, causing a depression in the earth more than five hundred square feet in area. Several trees were buried in the immense hole. The meteor is apparently composed of some metallic substance. Source
