Iran struck by magnitude 7.8 earthquake

A magnitude 7.8 earthquake has struck south-east Iran, the US Geological Survey (USGS) reports. The epicentre of the huge quake was 86km (53 miles) from the city of Khash in Sistan Baluchistan province, near the border with Pakistan.

Powerful earthquake hits south-east Iran

A powerful earthquake has hit south-eastern Iran, killing at least seven people and destroying several villages in Kerman province.
The governor of Kerman said hundreds of people had been injured by the 6.5-magnitude quake with the epicentre near the city of Bam.
The quake was also felt in Iran's Sistan-Baluchestan province.

An earthquake measuring 6.1 has struck southern Iran, the US Geological Service has said.
It hit at 06:30 (11:00 GMT), west-south-west of Bandar Abbas, home of a major oil refinery, about 55km below ground, the agency said.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
