A magnitude 15.8 type IIn supernova, 2012ab, was discovered on the 31st January, 2012, in the galaxy 2MASX J12224762+0536247 in the constellation Virgo, by the ROTSE collaboration. The supernova is located 0" east and 0" south from the center of the galaxy. Position (2000): RA 12 22 47.60 | Dec +05° 36' 25.0"
