The U.S. Coat Guard has ended their search after reports of a plane crash near the Jekyll Island Airport. Ronald Plant from Coast Guard search and rescue of Charleston, SC said they believe it was possibly a meteor shower.

State patrol, Coast Guard find nothing in two-hour search for Jekyll Island plane crash

The Georgia State Patrol and U.S. Coast Guard turned up nothing overnight as they searched for a plane crash in the marsh off Jekyll Island.
