Storms leave thousands without power across England

More than 16,000 homes and businesses in England are without power after parts of the country saw winds of more than 100mph (160km/h).
About 10,000 properties are without power in the East Midlands and trees have fallen across the country.
Great Dun Fell in Cumbria saw the strongest wind gust of 111mph (178 km/h).

The Met Office has issued severe weather warnings for many areas, including Yorkshire and Humber, the South East and South West.

Winds of up to 50mph have been reported in several areas, while the Hebrides saw gusts of 97mph.

Forecasters give Highland blizzard warning

The Met Office has issued a warning of heavy snowfall and blizzard conditions for northern Scotland on Tuesday.
On higher-level routes, up to 20cm of snow has been forecast, with slushy deposits to sea level.
