Falling space debris spotted over Esperance

Space debris burning up over the Esperance coast was fleeting but spectacular in colour, according to the locals lucky enough to spot it on Tuesday night.
Esperance police Sergeant Grant Webb said he received 20 phone calls reporting "falling lights" at 6.20pm.

Bright lights put Esperance police on space junk alert

Esperance police have been inundated with reports of multi-coloured lights descending to Earth along the coast near the Duke of Orleans Bay early on Tuesday evening.
Sen. Sgt Duncan Swadkins said the station received about 20 phone calls from people reportedly seeing the lights - which varied in colour from silver, yellow to red - about 60km east of Esperance.
