Confirmed:
A magnitude 12.7 Type Ia supernova was discovered on the 9th December, 2011, in the lenticular galaxy NGC 4984, in the Virgo constellation, by K. Itagaki.
The supernova is located 16.6" east and 6.1" south from the center of the galaxy. 

Position (2000):     RA 13 08 58.38 |  Dec -15° 31' 04.0

A possible magnitude 12.7 supernova was discovered on the 9th December, 2011, in the lenticular galaxy NGC 4984, in the Virgo constellation, by K. Itagaki.
The supernova is located 17" east and 6" south from the center of the galaxy. 
As yet the type is unknown.

Position (2000):     RA 13 08 58.38 |  Dec -15° 31' 04.0
