Dr. Brian Schmidt, 2011 Nobel Laureate in Physics to Speak on the Accelerating Universe
This year's Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded for a remarkable discovery that the Universe is accelerating as it expands. We are pleased to announce that Dr. Brian P. Schmidt, one of three people awarded this prize, will speak at the University of Hawai'i at Hilo, Campus Centre on October 19, 2011 at 7p.m. This discovery of what is called "dark energy" led to Dr. Schmidt's 2011 Nobel Prize.
