The fall took place near the village of Borkut (now the name of the village Kvasy). According to witnesses, the falled meteorite buried itself into the ground by 2 metres and was apparently still warm.

The Borkut (L5) meteorite fell in Zakarpats'ka, Ukraine, on the 13th October, 1852.
A total mass of 7 kg was recovered.

48° 9'N, 24° 17'E
