2011 QY39 Apollo PHA

Discovered by 'astronomical observatory of San Marcello Pistoiese' - MPC 104 - as an Apollo PHA asteroid and provisionally named by the Minor Planet Centre as 2011 QY39.
This is 'the first time, in Italian territory, of the discovery of a "potentially dangerous" asteroid whose orbit intersects with the Earth, and is large enough to cause serious damage.

MPEC 2011 - R13

The 250 - 560 metre wide asteroid 2011 QY39 will make a close pass (31.4 lunar distances, 0.0806 AU), travelling at 9.56 km/second, to the Earth-Moon system on the 28th October, 2011 @ 09:49 UT ±2 days 13:42.
