Vikram Sarabhai's life-size statue unveiled at Ahmedabad space centre

To commemorate the pioneer of space research in India on his 92nd birth anniversary, the Space Applications Centre (SAC), ISRO, Ahmedabad unveiled a life-size bronze statue of Dr Vikram Sarabhai on its campus on Friday.

Vikram Ambalal Sarabhai (12 August 1919 - 31 December 1971) was an Indian physicist. He is considered to be the father of the Indian space program; legendary Homi Bhabhas successor as chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission; and was as at home in the world of the arts as in his favourite laboratory.
