A possible magnitude 13.3 supernova was discovered by B. Monard on the 10th August, 2011, in the edge-on spiral galaxy NGC 4216 in the constellation Virgo. The supernova is located 14" east and 5" north from the center of the galaxy. As yet the type is unknown.
