Comet C/2011 NE (MCNAUGHT) was discovered on the 4th July, 2011, by R. McNaught (Siding Spring Survey).
The preliminary orbital elements of the comet indicate a perihelion passage on the 9th October, 2011, at a distance of 2.7 AU from the Sun.
