China launches data satellite
 
China has launched a data relay satellite from the Xichang Satellite Launch Centre in Sichuan Province.
Tianlian I-02 will be used to relay data to China's spacecraft and planned space stations, and will be used to help perform the nation's first space docking, scheduled for later this year.

China blasted off a new data relay satellite "Tianlian I-02" on Monday at the Xichang Satellite Launch Centre in southwest Sichuan Province .
The satellite was launched on a Long March-3C carrier rocket at 11:41 p.m. (Beijing Time), said sources with the center.

A Long March 3C rocket with the Tian Lian 1B tracking and data relay satellite is scheduled to launch from the Xichang satellite launch complex on the 10th June, 2011.
