Comet C/2011 J3 (LINEAR) was discovered on the 14th May, 2011, by the LINEAR Survey.
The preliminary orbital elements of the comet indicate a perihelion passage on the 21st January, 2011, at a distance of 1.4 AU from the Sun, and a 41.89 year orbital period.
