Tropical storm Aere struck the Philippines at about 18:00 GMT on 7 May.

Data supplied by the US Navy and Air Force Joint Typhoon Warning Centre suggest that the point of landfall was near 13.6 N,124.7 E. Aere brought 1-minute maximum sustained winds to the region of around 83 km/h. Wind gusts in the area may have been considerably higher.
