Magnitude 6.5 earthquake off Indonesia's resort island of Bali

A powerful earthquake off Indonesia rattled the popular resort island of Bali early Friday, but there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries, officials said.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the 6.5-magnitude quake struck at 1:08 a.m. (1708 GMT Thursday) and was centred 510 kilometres beneath the ocean floor.

A strong magnitude 6.2 earthquake occurred at 17:08:36 (UTC) on Thursday, March 10, 2011, in the Bali Sea region, about 200 km NNE of Mataram, Lombok, at a depth of 510 km.

Location    6.895°S, 116.787°E
