A Minotaur 1 rocket and its top-secret satellite rose above south Vandenberg Air Force Base early this morning after being delayed a day.
The rocket blasted off at 4:26 a.m. from Space Launch Complex-8, with mostly clear skies serving as the perfect back drop to watch the rockets first-stage motor fall away.
The rocket carried a national security payload for the National Reconnaissance Office.

A Minotaur I rocket was launched from Space Launch Complex-8 here at 4:26 a.m. (PST) Feb. 6.

A USAF Minotaur 1 rocket is scheduled to launch the classified NROL-66 satellite payload for the U.S. National Reconnaissance Office, from the Vandenberg Air Force Base, California on the 5th February, 2011.
