A magnitude 17 supernova, 2010it, was discovered by Cenko et al. at the Lick Observatory Supernova Search (LOSS) on the 11th October, 2010, in the galaxy NGC 1417 in the constellation Eridanus. The supernova is located 2.3" East and 4.1" South from the center of the galaxy. As yet the type is unknown.
