Hopes of finding the meteorite that fell in the local area on August 17 have lifted, with the Bombala Times having spoken with a new witness who saw the object fall.
Just after news broke of the meteorite falling somewhere in the direction of Delegate last month, Research Geologist, Dr Andy Tomkins of Monash University visited the area to try and find the object.
With only one resident having actually seen the meteor in the sky, however, Dr Tomkins did not have enough information to triangulate a good location, and the initial search was abandoned.
