Antarctica Meteorite Called Big Lew.



Big Lew is enclosed in a glass protective case at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. Big Lew weighs in at 250 pounds and was discovered in the 1980s in Antarctica's Lewis Cliffs Icefield. Big Lew is classed as a chondrite meteorite. It is believed to have landed on earth several hundred thousands of years ago.
