Chondrules: Their Role in Early Solar System History

This one day symposium will address the many issues that remain unsolved in the investigation of chondrules, their origin, and their significance in Solar System formation.
Through a day of invited talks and discussion, we will explore recent progress on constraining the formation mechanism(s), environments, and the timing of chondrule formation and potentially their accretion into parent bodies.

Space rock aficionados from around the world are converging on New York City for the biggest ever meeting of the Meteoritical Society this week.
More than 500 meteorite experts from around the world will convene at the Park Central Hotel here for five days of presentations and discussion on topics ranging from the age of our solar system, how planets become habitable, and how often large meteoroids hit planets like Earth. The space rock meeting begins in earnest Monday.

The 73rd Annual Meeting of the Meteoritical Society
July 26-30, 2010, in the City of New York, New York, USA.

The scientific program will be held at the Park Central Hotel  (870 7th Ave. at 56th St.) in upper midtown Manhattan, a 20 minute walk from the AMNH, across 7th Avenue from Carnegie Hall, steps from Columbus Circle, and two blocks south of Central Park.
