White ball of fire from sky not meteorite, specialist says

All that remains of the incident now is a small patch of burned ground about three feet wide and 15 feet long with no clues as to what exactly caused the grass to burn in the area.
Louis Campbell and his wife, Clemmie, are not sure what they saw hit the ground at about 10:30 a.m. but Clemmie contacted the New London fire department as her husband rushed to put the fire out.
Campbell said it could be a meteor but its anyones guess as to what the object that caused the fire was.

Provincial fire marshal Dave Blacquiere is meeting today with Dr. Robert Hawkes, professor of physics at Mount Allison University, to review the evidence gathered at Grahams Road where a mysterious field fire happened Saturday morning.

Dave Blacquiere told CBC News Tuesday he's not sure what fell from the sky in Graham's Road, northeast of Summerside. Louis Campbell saw it land in his field, and described it as a ball of fire about the size of a football.

A mysterious fire that occurred in Grahams Road Saturday morning has left residents puzzled.
Louis and Clemmie Campbell were outside in their yard when they heard a loud swishing sound.
The ball of fire landed in a hay field beside the Campbell's driveway.
