Songs about or just inspired by science are by no means hard to find, but it seems the same few are continually bandied about (e.g., "I Am a Scientist" by Guided By Voices), so we thought it would be fun to list what are, depending on your level of music knowledge, perhaps some lesser known examples. These 10 songs, listed in no particular order, cover the gamut of genres, from ambient to pop to rock to metal, and were inspired by a wide range of scientific disciplines, including mathematics, robotics, climate science and cosmology.

Ghostland Observatory will bring electro-dance brilliance to the Crystal

The Austin, Texas duo Ghostland Observatory will bring its electro-blues dance grooves and psychedelic visual spectacle to the Crystal Ballroom on Thursday, November 11th, just over a year since their last visit to Portland.
Aaron Behrens (vocals and guitar) and Thomas Turner (producer/drums) formed Ghostland Observatory in 2004, releasing delete.delete.i.eat.meat in 2005, Paparazzi Lightning in 2006, and Robotique Majestique in 2008, all under Trashy Moped Recordings.
