A Sampling of Meteorites on Display This Weekend in Tucson

Nearly three dozen asteroids will be on display this weekend at the Foothills Mall in Tucson.
Marvin Killgore, the curator of meteorites at the University of Arizona Lunar and Planetary Laboratory, is putting together a collection that spans the different sizes, shapes and composition of these extraterrestrial objects.
They range from a 1,700-lb. chunk of solid iron to an object about the size of a deck of cards that Kilgore himself recovered several weeks ago soon after it was widely seen creating a spectacular fireball over Wisconsin.
