Wrapping up six months of work

ESA astronaut André Kuipers is scheduled to leave the International Space Station and land on 1 July. André is finishing experiments and packing his bags ready for departure. One of the last experiments is looking at how a human body stays warm.

André's PromISSe mission extended on Space Station
 
ESA astronaut André Kuipers will stay on the International Space Station for more than a month longer than originally planned. In addition to his normal routine he will spend some of the extra time conducting scientific experiments.
The Station partners have agreed that this expedition will be prolonged following a delay in the launch of the next Soyuz crew ferry.

Help ESA to name Europe's next mission to Space Station
 
Now that Paolo Nespoli has returned from the International Space Station, we are looking forward to Europe's next mission. André Kuipers will be launched to the orbital outpost in November - but his mission still has no name. Help us to find a good one!
This will be André's second mission to the Space Station: he made an 11-day visit in 2004 as part of a crew rotation flight. But this time he will be staying for about six months, as a flight engineer on Expeditions 30 and 31. He will see the complex in its full glory - in 2004 it had just three main modules.
He will perform an extensive programme of scientific experiments and take part in several educational activities, in addition to an engineer's operational duties.

Dutch astronaut André Kuipers is to make his second trip into space in December 2011 when he flies to the International Space Station for a six month tour of duty.

As a result of the latest International Space Station Multi-Lateral Crew Operations Panel (MCOP) recently held in Houston, ESA has today announced that the European crewmember of Expedition 30/31 to fly to the International Space Station in 2011 will be André Kuipers from the Netherlands.
