Council to support observatorys future plans

The Louisburg City Council took some preliminary steps to accommodate big plans to grow from the Astronomical Society of Kansas City, which plans to expand the home of its large 30 telescope at Powell Observatory in Lewis-Young Park.

Powell Observatory board members hope Louisburg residents will take a break from the city lights one night and come explore all the observatory has to offer.
Thats why the observatory, in conjunction with the city of Louisburg, is holding a Louisburg night Aug. 14.
